bio
JB Somers is a Nashville-based singer-songwriter known for his emotive vocals and unflinchingly honest songwriting. A pastor’s kid from Alabama, Somers first found his voice singing in church before reaching a national audience on Season 23 of NBC’s “The Voice” as part of Kelly Clarkson’s team, where Clarkson praised his “incredible” tone.. Drawing inspiration from artists like Joni Mitchell, Sam Smith, and Brandi Carlile, Somers crafts songs that blend soulful pop tendencies with confessional country lyricism, exploring identity, queerness, healing, and self-acceptance with striking emotional clarity.
Since relocating to Nashville, Somers has become a growing presence within the city’s creative community, sharing stages with artists including Morgxn, Katie Pruitt, Fancy Hagood, Jess Nolan, and more. In 2025, he released his EP Love, Myself, a pivotal body of work chronicling his journey toward authenticity, healing, and self-trust. The project built on momentum from singles including “180 Days,” “Bored With You,” “Talk,” and “Hollywood Sign,” each showcasing his cinematic production style and intimate storytelling.
In 2026, Somers launched into the year with the release of “Real Man,” a deeply vulnerable anthem challenging traditional ideas of masculinity and emotional intelligence. The song premiered with Under the Radar and later received renewed attention through a duet version featured on Morgxn’s Heartland (Deluxe). The campaign marked several major milestones for Somers, including his radio debut on WSM Radio’s On Air With Eryn, an appearance on ACME Radio Live’s Notable Nashville, a live performance with Morgxn for Tin Pan South and features on WSMV Channel 4’s Today in Nashville and That Nashville Girl podcast.
With a powerful vocal presence, fearless vulnerability, and a rapidly growing fanbase, JB Somers continues to establish himself as one of contemporary country’s most compelling emerging storytellers focused on creating music that feels both deeply personal and universally resonant.
