about chrissy nix

& the interlude

Chrissy Nix is a Nashville-based artist manager, creative director, and founder of The Interlude, a development and management company dedicated to helping independent artists bridge the gap between emerging artistry and mainstream breakthrough. Known for her artist-first philosophy and multidisciplinary creative background, Nix has built a reputation as a trusted force behind some of Nashville’s most compelling talent, blending management, visual storytelling, branding, content strategy, and artist development into a singular artist-first vision.

Raised in Noblesville, Indiana, Chrissy Nix grew up in a deeply creative household where art was part of everyday life. Her father, a graphic designer and photographer, taught her to shoot on film cameras as a child, while her mother handmade elaborate costumes for the family each year. Growing up, Nix sang, played piano and guitar, and rarely went anywhere without a camera in hand.

After a brief stint at Visible Music College in Memphis confirmed music would always be central to her life, Nix pursued cosmetology school, drawn to work that balanced creativity with human connection. Following time spent exploring creative work in New York and Los Angeles — shadowing production sets, working in salons, and searching for where she belonged — she ultimately landed in Nashville, where her multidisciplinary approach quickly set her apart.

Nix hit the ground running by cold-calling production companies and introducing herself around town as someone who could do both hair & makeup and photography — a rare combination at the time. She built relationships artist by artist, and was trusted by Kelsea Ballerini, Britt Nicole, Caitlyn Smith, Pricilla Block, and Emily West to ensure they looked their best for some of their biggest moments. Nix handled hair & makeup for several of Ballerini’s earliest career milestones, including cover art, an Opry debut, and red carpet appearances, while her touring work with Britt Nicole helped establish her as an early innovator in artist-focused social content and visual storytelling. Long before short-form content became industry standard, Nix was capturing behind-the-scenes footage, pairing them with music, and helping artists develop authentic digital identities.

Touring deeply shaped Nix’s philosophy around artist care and creative direction. Watching artists navigate exhausting schedules, constant demands, and the emotional toll of performance culture, she became increasingly focused on the humanity behind the brand.

As artists increasingly leaned on her for guidance beyond visuals, Nix organically transitioned into management and creative direction, becoming known for identifying gaps in artist development and building teams that genuinely support both the artistry and the human being behind it. Through The Interlude, she now manages and creatively directs artists including Remy Garrison, JB Somers, and Amy Peters. Her work with Remy Garrison helped shape the artist’s transition from pop into country, guiding songwriting development, producer relationships, branding, and creative identity while helping position her for success in both Nashville and Los Angeles writing rooms. With American Blonde, Nix played a key role in reimagining the group’s identity following their evolution from trio act Southern Halo into a new era, helping develop their sound, creative direction, and documentary storytelling while advocating for the band to remain musicians at the center of their own records.

Nix’s approach is rooted in collaboration, emotional intelligence, and long-term artist sustainability. Her ability to communicate fluently across every layer of the creative process — from glam to lighting, photography, production, branding, songwriting, and management — has made her a respected connector and visionary within Nashville’s independent music community. Through The Interlude, she champions artists in transitional moments, helping bridge the gap between promise and permanence while building careers designed to last. At the core of her work is a belief that artists need people in their corner long before the industry catches up to their value.

That philosophy has become deeply tied to the legacy Nix hopes to leave behind. After years spent on production sets and touring alongside artists, she grew increasingly frustrated watching musicians pour endlessly into everyone around them while often being the last people truly cared for in the process. On film and commercial sets, talent is prioritized. But in the music industry, she saw artists routinely sacrificing their own stability, health, and finances just to keep their careers moving. Nix believes the people creating the art should never be treated as an afterthought. To her, art shapes the emotional texture of everyday life — it’s the song playing in a restaurant at the end of a long day, the visual artwork that makes a space feel alive, the connection people cling to during difficult seasons. Through The Interlude, she has committed herself to building artist-first systems rooted in sustainability, humanity, and creative trust, ensuring artists feel supported not only for what they produce, but for who they are at the core.

““There truly aren’t enough positive things I could say about working with Chrissy. We’ve worked together in several capacities over the last decade, and I’m not sure I’ve ever met someone who brings more light, energy, and genuine joy into every situation. She has a rare ability to make everyone around her feel seen, heard, and valued.

“As she’s continued stepping into larger roles with her clients, she’s handled every bit of it with grace and confidence. She constantly challenges the people around her to be better, work harder, and push beyond what they thought was possible. More than anything, she leads with heart, integrity, and an incredible sense of loyalty. There’s truly no one I would trust more with my friends, family, clients, or the people I love most.”

“Chrissy Nix was one of the first people to truly see me. Over the years, she’s become one of the people I trust most in this industry and someone I can turn to in uncertain moments knowing I’ll get honesty, perspective, and support. She has a rare ability to lead with both empathy and sharp business acumen, understanding the emotional side of this work while never losing sight of the bigger picture.

“Working alongside Chrissy on artist campaigns has been incredibly seamless because we share a deep passion for the craft and for advocating for the person behind the art. She leads with an artist-first mentality that this industry desperately needs more of. In a business that can often feel transactional, Chrissy brings humanity, integrity, and genuine care into every room she walks into. The artists and teams around her are better because of it.”

“When I met Chrissy, I was genuinely close to giving up on music. Her belief in me gave me a second wind and reignited my passion to create undeniable art for the world to hear. That’s the kind of impact she has on people. She doesn’t just help artists build careers, she reminds them why they started in the first place.”

“With The Interlude, Chrissy is making artists feel seen, heard and understood. She’s full of brilliant ideas, but her most impressive trait is the way she lifts us toward the highest versions of ourselves. Chrissy’s support, creativity and enthusiasm has gotten my career off the ground, and I can’t imagine doing this without her.”

— AMY PETERS, the interlude roster artist

“I’ve worked with Chrissy for six years, and together we’ve built my brand and music from the ground up. She has been beside me through every high and every low this industry can throw at a person, and through it all, she has remained one of my biggest supporters and fiercest believers.

“Chrissy is someone who truly loves artists and fights for the artist's voice to be the loudest in the room. She wears more hats than anyone I know, and works harder than almost anybody I’ve ever met. One day she’s a complete bulldog for you and your vision, and the next she’s your emotional support human reminding you who you are when things get hard.

“Any artist who has had the chance to work closely with Chrissy knows how much love, passion, and care she pours into her projects and the people behind them. There is genuinely no one else like her. I could honestly write a novel about everything we’ve built together and how much I adore and appreciate this woman.”
